Instructions for use

1.Wound cleaning and disinfection: First, rinse the wound with normal saline to remove necrotic tissue.

2. Select the dressing: Based on the size and shape of the wound, choose or cut the appropriate alginate dressing.

3.Applying the dressing: Place the dressing directly over the wound bed, ensuring it makes full contact with the bottom and edges of the wound. For cavity-type wounds, use the dressing to gently fill the space, but avoid being too tight.

4.Cover the outer layer: A second layer of secondary dressing (such as gauze, foam dressing, etc.) must be added to fix and absorb the excess exudate.

5.Replacement time: Replace when the exudate becomes saturated, the outer dressing gets wet (usually every 1-3 days).

Precautions

Applicable wounds: Primarily used for moderate to severe exudative wounds (such as exudative wounds, ulcers, pressure sores), not suitable for dry or scabbed wounds.

Maintain moisture: Before use, moisten the dressing with a small amount of normal saline, but remove any excess water.

No need for daily replacement: Usually, it is not necessary to replace it every day to avoid damaging the newly formed granulation tissue.

Contraindications: Not applicable for dry wounds, third-degree burns, or wounds with exposed bones and tendons.

Medical advice: For severe or complex wounds, they must be treated under the guidance of a doctor or a professional nurse.
