Instructions for use

 

Ensure the hands are washed and wear the gloves.
Select an appropriate drape size/material
Unfold the drape without contaminating the sterile surface.
Place it over the patient, starting from the incision site outward.
Secure adhesive edges (if present) to prevent slippage.
Avoid repositioning to maintain sterility.
Replace if torn or saturated with fluids.

Precautions

Sterility Maintenance – Do not touch non-sterile surfaces after draping.
Proper Fit – Ensure full coverage of operative area with adequate overlap.
Material Compatibility – Check for patient allergies (e.g., latex-free adhesives).
Disposal – Discard as biohazard waste post-procedure.
Fire Safety – Use flame-retardant drapes in laser/electrosurgery to prevent ignition.
