What is Non-Woven Gauze?

Non-woven gauze is a sterile dressing made from synthetic fibers that are bonded together through a mechanical process. Unlike woven gauze, which is made from traditional cotton fibers, non-woven gauze offers greater absorbency and less linting, making it ideal for a variety of medical applications, including wound care and surgical dressings.

 

To use non-woven gauze effectively, first ensure the wound is clean. Cut the non-woven gauze pad to the desired size (commonly available in 4x4 inches). Place the pad over the wound, applying gentle pressure to secure it in place. If needed, you can use medical tape to keep it secure. Change the dressing regularly, especially if it becomes wet or soiled.
